Wow.... Strongbad, that brings me back a while. The memories of when I was in 2nd year (around 14) and always watched the episodes. My friend's email once got selected... I think. Good times....

Gr8 post chrono, i agree with everything you said, and i really dont think blogging is dying either.

That was exactly the thing i was trying to say, blog interesting and different stuff, and if you do blog the stuff you see everywhere, make it stand head and shoulders about the rest, put some opinions in, make it different to just copying or quoting someone else.

[...] Looking at Atariboy’s post gave me the inspiration to write this article. This topic has been the storm of a recent controversy with a recent poll indicating that Blogs are dying and soon they will be no more. x). Now I’ve heard really silly things from “Google OS” to “Use your mind to search Google” but this is terribly ridiculous. I agree with Dave who says that to say Blogging is dead is like saying Email or IM or Telephone is dead. Infact I can and will go one step further to proclaim that to say that Blogging is dead is like saying Goodbye to the web itself. Blogs have long shed the “Personal Diary” tag and today as we move towards web 2.0, an integral force in keeping the people together are blogs, without a doubt! [...]

See, a blog is a place for you to share your own feelings... So if you see some interesting news, check it out for yourself and then give your opinions on it via the blog, thus giving the blog your personal touch... Instead of making it dry with just the news, give them the views and all the funda that they need and why they should/should not do so!

I don't digg, so I'm not sure if this has been there or not. It's a tool I use at work as a network admin:

If I had some better electronics skillz:

And when blogging finally turns my mind to mush:

digg is reliant on blogs, yes, but for origonal news not the rehashed stuff that everyone heres from everywhere.

I'd also like to say that if you have something significant to add to a piece of news or a good point/opinion then blog away, but there is not much point in mirroring slashdot or digg, just like techandother said.

Joe, maybe you have a point, if you blog current news all the time (basically becoming a news site) then you will get lots of traffic. (boingboing for example), but i really dont care for this whole A-list/Y-list blog naming thing, its kinda gettign a bit to close to holywood, and we all know how fake that is!!
